Chippenham Taxis Now Carry RAPAID

Following the recent tragic events where 16-year-old Shayne Hambakachere was fatally stabbed in Chippenham local taxis in Chippenham and the surrounding areas of Malmesbury now carry emergency bandage kits designed to stem serious blood loss.
The bandage kits that require no specialist training have been donated by the charity RAPAID and distributed onto 60 local taxis with the support of the James Dyson Foundation.
Sarah Gibson local MP said:
“I am grateful to RAPAID, the James Dyson Foundation and our local taxi drivers for working together to bring these emergency bandage kits to Chippenham. Having lifesaving equipment carried by taxis across the town means help could be close at hand when it matters most.”
Insp Pete Foster of Wiltshire Police welcomed the move, and said bleed kits enabled the taxi community “to provide immediate help that could save lives”.
